About the Artist
Geeta Vaishnavi is an Artist, Activist, Educator and a Social Entrepreneur.
Hyundai Art for Hope Awardee, Global Talent at Unleash Innovation Lab 2022, World Economic Forum's Global Shaper and Sustainability Warriors Fellow 2023.
Over a decade of her career as a muralist, she has worked on street art projects across India. To her – ‘The World is her canvas’. She has painted nationwide on a plethora of themes including but not limited to the following: ‘Women Empowerment’, ‘Child Rights’, ‘Conservation of Natural Resources’, and ‘Girl Child Education’. She has been part of many restoration projects from quaint little villages in hills to bustling bastis of New Delhi. She is a strong proponent of the idea that creativity belongs to all and should be explored by everyone. She researches and writes on the topics ranging from policy, art, culture and heritage.
She believes in the transformational power of the arts and contends that through arts we can teach, heal and Art is necessary to lead change in the world. ​​
